Journey's frontman is stepping up to help residents of his homeland.
Arnel Pineda, who's from Manila, says the group, their management, and their promoter are teaming up to donate more than $350,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme.
The funds will help provide more than 1.4 million meals for those in need. Pineda, has who traveled to the Philippines, was also slated to meet with a rep from the WFP in Manila on Saturday.
Journey is also urging fans to follow their lead with donations of their own to the WFP. The group has set up its own WFP webpage to help generate money for the cause.
Their "Don't Stop Believin' in the Philippines" effort has a goal of $50,000. Fans can find out more at my.wfpusa.org/fundraise.
