New Invention May Allow Dogs to Talk

Dog has long been man's best friend, but not necessarily man's best conversation partner. The Nordic Society for Invention and Discovery is working to change this.

The Scandinavian technology, "No More Woof" is a talking dog device that aims to translate your dog's thought patterns into short sentences of English communicated via microphone. Sensors in the headset detect canine brainwaves with patterns that translate to anger, curiosity or tiredness.

The technology is still in development, but early prototypes are available for pre-purchase on indiegogo, ranging in price from $65 to $1200. Current sample sentences come preprogrammed into the device and include "I'm hungry--but I don't like this!" or "I'm curious, who is that?". No word yet on when translators of our dog's political leanings or literary preferences will be developed.
